Sax Appeal is a duo comprised of Alexandria natives Chuck Wencl, saxophonist, and his daughter, Michelle Wencl, vocalist. Their format combines live performance, computers, midi music and the sound of a five-piece band.

Chuck started playing saxophone in 5th grade and played in the family band with his father and brother. While he was in the Navy, he studied in the Navy School of Music, receiving his degree in music education from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

He teaches private music lessons at Carlson Music in Alexandria.

Michelle has been singing professionally for 10 years and sings jazz, pop and country. Her most memorable moments have been singing at the Stardust in Las Vegas, Nevada, and performing with her father.
