Sarah Ella Tweeter, 86, of Evansville, died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Evansville Care Campus.
Sarah was born June 21, 1927 to William and Edna (Kranz) Toboll in Montevideo. She grew up on the farm in rural Montevideo. Sarah was confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1941. She was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Tweeter in December 1945. The couple made their home in Alexandria. In 1950, they moved to Evansville. Sarah worked for several restaurants and cafes where she was renowned for her cooking and baking. Dick passed away on May 23, 2005.
Sarah was a past president of the Evansville Senior Citizens Club and was very active with them. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crossword puzzles, embroidery and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
She is survived by her children, Richard Jr. (Betty) of Douglas, WY, James (Rhonda) of Richville, Leslie of Evansville, Julie of New Orleans, LA, and Jeffrey (Tammie Lunceford) of Evansville; five grandchildren, Shane, Michelle, Chris, Patrick and Rhiannon; one great-grandchild, Alexa; and a half-brother, Ernest Toboll of Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 24 at Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville with the Rev. Zachary Johnson officiating.
Burial was at Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville.
