Sandy Wollschlager to present documentary on women here
Former Minnesota Legislator Sandy Wollschlager will show and discuss the documentary film Women Making Change in a free program, open to the public, on Thursday, September 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Nelson Gables Governor's Room, 1220 Nokomis Street, Alexandria.
This presentation is sponsored locally by the Alexandria Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
Wollschlager co-produced the film that was a collaborative effort between Twin Cities Public Television and the Minnesota AAUW. She is from southeast Minnesota and served as a representative in the State House of Representatives for two years. She is a chemist who also holds a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University.
Among the women interviewed for the film were Minnesotans Joanell Dyrstad, Joan Anderson Growe, Margaret Anderson Kelliher, Lori Sturdevant, Kathy Tingelstad and Sandy Wollschlager. These women with careers in Minnesota politics share their experiences and their perspectives regarding the challenges and opportunities they faced on the campaign trail and in public office.
