Ruth Norma (Strandberg) Peterman, 73, Evansville, died May 24, 2014 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria
Ruth was born June 16, 1940 to Dr. Harold S. and Mrs. Norma A. (Femrite) Strandberg in Glenwood. She was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church, attended high school in Alexandria and received her nursing education at Alexandria Technical College.
Ruth and Marlin L. Peterman were married June 16, 1972 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale, which is the same church where her parents were married.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Marlin Peterman of Evansville; three children, Thomas Harold (Shelby) Peterman, Jennifer Jane (Barry) Dykhoff, and Steven Alan (Cathy) Nicolaus; grandchildren, Jeremy Peterman and Jacquelyn (Christopher) Ranweiler, Nathaniel Korkowski, Ryan Korkowski, Devyn Korkowski, and Austin Korkowski, Andrew and Daniel Dedman; great-granddaughters, Haley and Alyssa Korkowski, and great-grandson, Levi Ranweiler; brother, Charles H. Strandberg; nieces, Diane Batchik and Denise Elfes and nephew, Dale Elfes; John F. and Olive Ann Hagstrom, as well as several other cousins and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son, David V. Nicolaus; great-grandson, Gabriel T. Ranweiler; parents, Harold and Norma; sister, Yvonne Elfes; and niece, Colleen Elfes.
Ruth was very proud of her family.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 28 at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria with the Rev. Tracy Weaver officiating.
