Rodney Swanson, 75
Rodney Harold Swanson, 75, of Buffalo, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.
Rodney was born Friday, February 18, 1938 in Starbuck, the son of Harold and Minnie Swanson.
On August 15, 1964, Rodney was joined in holy marriage to Carol Blaschko. Rodney was enlisted in the U.S. Army from November 29, 1956 to September 2, 1959. He owned North Star Machining in Buffalo until he retired. He looked forward to his annual fishing trips with his friends, Omar and Luther, hunting trips with Bobby, Bill and David, and working on projects with his neighbor and friend, Cory.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol and brother, Robert.
Surviving are daughters, Lisa (Jim) Groenewold of Eden Prairie, and Cheryl Swanson of White Bear Lake; granddaughter, Lauren; sisters, Carol (Don) Johnson and Shirley (Bill) Mechels; and many family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, September 5 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be private.
