Robert Anderson, 64

Robert Wayne Anderson, 64, died peacefully at his home in Laughlin, Nevada on March 10, 2014.

Bob was born in Jackson, Minnesota on November 23, 1949 to Richard and Helen (Luff) Anderson. Bob was the youngest of four children. He had worn many hats throughout his life: son, cowboy, auctioneer, soldier, machinist, husband, father, grandfather.

His ability to train horses was well known throughout the horse community. He loved being a cowboy, hanging with friends, dancing and spending time with his grandkids.

Bob was a long time resident of Carlos and ran a guided trail ride service when he first moved to Carlos. He loved chasing coons with his hounds and would often be seen with 8 to 10 of them in the back of his pickup. As the years progressed, he found he had a knack for machining, although it was not as much fun as cowboying. He retired from the machining profession in 2009.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sheila Anderson, of Laughlin; six children, Jackie (Daniel) Anderson, Bradley, SD, Renae (Patrick) Hill, Sitka, Alaska, Melissa (Robert) Schwarz, Fayetteville, SC, Travis Anderson, Alexandria, Amber (Ben) Rusch, Brandon, Christopher (Jessica) Kotzer, Sauk Rapids; brothers, Rick (Nancy) Anderson, Clear Lake, WI, Jim Anderson, Lily, SD; sister, Judy (Dale) Denny, Hewitt; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; an uncle; and several friends.

A celebration of Bobs life will be held in Starbuck on Saturday, April 19 at the community center at 11 a.m. Please feel free to bring pictures and stories as we remember him as he wanted to be remembered.
