Alexandria's Tom Eidsvold and Dick Lasch of Circle Pines weren't fazed by the combined 12 Resorters titles that they were going up against on Friday afternoon.

Instead, they took that challenge and ran with it on their way to cementing their spot in the Masters Division championship today. Eidsvold never trailed in taking down eight-time winner Ron Clayton of Sarasota, Florida. Lasch didn't either as he knocked out four-time champion George Cliff of Mankato.

Both will be searching for their first Resorters title today when they take to the first tee at 12:20 this afternoon. Here is a closer look at how Eidsvold and Lasch got here.

Eidsvold def. Clayton, 2-1

Clayton doesn't give many holes away, which meant Eidsvold would have to go out and take Friday's match if he was going to come away with a win.

That's exactly what he did. Eidsvold shot 36 on the front and used a birdie win on No. 3 to take his first lead. He added to that with a par win on 5 before Clayton responded with a par win of his own on No. 6.

Eidsvold responded in a big way after that. His back-to-back pars on Nos. 7 and 8 gave him a three-hole lead as they went into the turn.

Clayton isn't one to go away quietly, though. He fought all the way back with two pars sandwiched around a birdie win on 12 that brought the match even.

Once again, Eidsvold had an answer when he parred the 14th to take the lead back. This time, he never let it go. Both players parred 15 and 16 before Eidsvold put the finishing touches on the win with a birdie on the par-3 17th.

Lasch def. Cliff, 5-3

Lasch's win came a little easier as he won the first two holes and never looked back in a 5-3 win over Cliff.

Lasch moved that lead to 3-up after six before Cliff made his only run of the day with par wins on 7 and 9. He couldn't get any closer than that during a tough stretch on the back.

Lasch was steady throughout the day and that's all he needed to be as Cliff bogeyed five of the six holes they played after the turn. Lasch won four of those with pars as he earned a trip to the finals after putting things away through 15 holes.
