Resorters baseball: Miltona rattles Long Prairie 17-2
The Miltona Tigers ran away from Long Prairie in a 17-2 game last weekend to set up a showdown for first place in the Resorters East with Carlos this Friday night.
Miltona got five strong innings from Chris Koep and an offensive outburst in the third to run away from Long Prairie. Koep allowed just one earned run and struck out six before giving way to John Mohror in the sixth. He threw the final two innings, striking out four and allowing one run.
The Tigers blew things open with a big third inning. They sent 13 men to the plate and scored nine times to help run away with the win.
That set the stage for a big game against Carlos on Friday night. The Tigers were in first place in the East Division at 9-1. The Cougars trail by just one game and will try to avenge an early loss to the Tigers when the first pitch is tossed at 8 p.m. in Carlos.
