Registrations open for children's theater camp
Registrations are open for the 26th annual Prairie Fire Children's Theatre Day Camp in Barrett. This year's production, Aladdin and his Magic Lamp, has roles for 80 young people.
Camp will be held Monday through Thursday, August 6 to 9 from noon to 5 p.m. Performances are Friday through Sunday, August 10 to 12.
Registration is open to anyone aged 7 to 18 on a first-come, first-served basis. All campers are guaranteed a part in the play and participation in a theatrical workshop schedule. All rehearsals and performances will be held at West Central Area Secondary School in Barrett. Carpool lists will be available as well as host families for out-of-town campers.
The camp offers an opportunity for kids to learn about theater while building friendships.
The camp is conducted by a team of four professional actors/directors from Prairie Fire's staff.
For information on registering or becoming a host family, call (320) 528-2596 or log on to prairiefirechildrenstheatre.com. Scholarships are available for this year's camp. Prairie Fire is continuing its partial scholarship program, which is open to anyone.
