Randy Fischer, 57

Randy Harold Fischer, 57, died Monday, November 18, 2013 in Hangzhou, China while on a business trip with his wife and close friends.

The son of Harold and Ardys Fischer, Randy was born in Glenwood on December 26, 1955. Randy graduated from Villard High School in 1973 and then served his country, enlisting into the United States Marine Corps for four years.

Randy met the love of his life, Janet Hoppe, while in the Marine Corps. They were united in marriage on April 7, 1979 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. They worked hard and traveled around the country until they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Boone and Mitch.

Randys motto in life was God, Family and Country. He lived his life by working hard and playing hard. He always kept busy and made a point to finish what he had started. Randy frequently could be found in his shop, building or working on something. He loved God and taught his sons to believe and be faithful to God. Randy proudly served his country. The time he spent in the United States Marine Corps helped shape his personality and drive in life.

In the words of Randys sons, "He was the best Dad anyone could have." Randy always put his family first. He tried to set a good example for his boys as well as teach them good life skills. He enjoyed the many hunting, fishing and family trips with his wife and sons that were taken throughout the years.

Randy was passionate about what he did in the real estate business since he began in the practice in 1982. He took pride in making a difference in the lives of others by helping them find the perfect home for their families. He was also active in helping others to make this a better community.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Fischer of Alexandria; sons, Boone and Mitch Fischer, both of Alexandria; mother, Ardys Fischer of Alexandria; brothers, Rick (Robin) Fischer of Villard, Ron (Alida) Fischer of Alexandria; Roylie (Shiela) Fischer of Alexandria; sister, Tammy Fischer of Devils Lake, ND; nieces, nephews and cousins.
