Quilting camp offered to youth
A "Quilt Quest 3 Camp" will offer young people a chance to explore the wonderful world of quilting by making their very own quilt.
This camp is open to all youth in grades 5 and up.
Participants will complete a quilt approximately 78-inches by 90-inches.
Each participant will select his or her own fabric. Camp is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Common Threads Quilt Shop in Garfield. Please bring your own lunch both days.
Participants will complete the top during that time, send it off to be machine quilted and meet again to finish the binding.
Cost is $65 and includes all materials (fabric, thread, quilt batting, backing and binding). The cost also includes having it machine quilted with a meandering pattern.
Call the Douglas County Extension Office at (320) 762-3890 for registration information. Deadline to register is Friday, June 18.
The camp is sponsored by Douglas County 4-H, Lakes Area Quilters and Common Threads Quilt Shop.
