Project begins to replace pipe between Highway 29, Lake L'Homme Dieu
Construction began on Tuesday to replace ductile iron pipe pressure forcemain between Highway 29 North and Lake L'Homme Dieu, according to the Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District (ALASD).
"All construction activities will take place during daylight hours of the standard work week," said Bruce Nelson, ALASD's executive director. "We've got all the necessary construction permits already in place and the project is scheduled to be completed by May 18. We're working hard to generate minimal disruption to people's daily activities."
This project will replace 3,300 feet of pipe, at a cost of $374,820. Ellingson Companies of West Concord, Minnesota is the contractor on the project. Widseth Smith Nolting (WSN) of Alexandria is the project engineer.
