Program provides teens with leadership skills
A Teen Leadership Development Program for students in grades 8 through 10 is being offered through the Alexandria Area YMCA.
The program is designed to provide young adults with the opportunity to learn more about stewardship from community leaders.
The program features speakers, games and exciting group challenges.
YMCA leaders said the Teen Leadership Development Program has three primary objectives:
Provide teens with practical leadership skills that they can apply to youth groups/councils and clubs on which they are currently serving.
Provide teens with the opportunity to become a part of an adult board and/or committee in the Alexandria area.
Provide teens with lifelong skills for community service and volunteer involvement that will serve them well throughout their adult years in the community they reside.
The program will be offered on Monday nights starting on October 26 and continuing through December 7 at the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum in Alexandria from 6 to 8 p.m.
The cost is $30. For more information or to register, contact the YMCA at (320) 763-9621.
