The numbers closely mirror this year's budget with only about a 1 percent difference. The district, however, hopes to significantly increase its fund balance.

For next school year, school district revenues are forecast at $36,997,246 and expenses come in at $36,926,745 with a proposed fund balance of $70,500.

The district's revised budget for the 2012-2013 school year came in at $36,608,580 in revenues, $36,593,784 in expenses and a fund balance of $14,797.

Trevor Peterson, District 206 business director, said that preliminary budget numbers will likely change based on factors like student enrollment, staffing and general state aid changes. The state mandates a preliminary budget from each school district in June.

A revised, in-depth budget will be presented to the board this fall, Peterson said.
