Prairie Wind Players presents 'The Mouse that Roared'
Prairie Wind Players Community Theatre will present its children’s play The Mouse That Roared at Roosevelt Hall in Barrett. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, August 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m.
Duchess Gloriana, sovereign of a small country in the Alps, has a unique solution to her country’s near bankruptcy: to declare war on the U.S. Her study of recent history suggests that the surest way to wealth is to lose a war with the U.S.
However, the leader of Gloriana’s bowmen upsets all plans when he launches the attack and unexpectedly wins.
The cast consists of children from Alexandria, Ashby, Barrett, Dalton, Donnelly, Elbow Lake and Herman.
The crew includes Jane Schlotfeld and Leah Drexler, directors; Christy Johnson, producer; Jim Johnson, set design and construction; and Arlyn Swenson, light and sound.
Because this is a children’s play, there will be no dinner theater and no wine sales. The concession stand will be open.
