Prairie Wind Players to perform Steel Magnolias
Prairie Wind Players Community Theatre in Barrett will present Steel Magnolias June 22-24 and 29-30.
The comedy/drama explores the bond among a group of southern women in northwest Louisiana. Centered on Truvy's beauty parlor and the women who regularly gather there, the story spans weddings, tough decisions, unlikely friendships, shy newcomers and relationships.
Steel Magnolias, produced by Christy Johnson, is directed by Sharon Thalmann. Jane Schlotfeld is the assistant director/stage manager. John Thalmann designed and built the set, Arlyn Swenson is the technician, and Darcy Mayeda and Hillary Ninman are in charge of props and costumes. Deb Long is doing hair and makeup.
The performance dates and times for Steel Magnolias are as follows:
Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 there is a dinner theater with seating beginning at 6 p.m., followed by general admission seating at 7 p.m. with curtain time at 7:30 p.m.
The Sunday matinee is general admission seating. Doors will open at 1:15 p.m. with curtain time at 2 p.m.
Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30 is general admission seating. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with curtain time at 7:30 p.m.
General admission ticket prices are $15. Children aged 10 and younger are $10. Dinner theater tickets are $32. Reservations are required for the dinner theater.
