Possible drowning reported on Maple Lake

A possible drowning occurred on Maple Lake near Forada Wednesday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 5:09 p.m. of a possible drowning at 12146 Forada Beach Rd SE.  The caller stated that the victim, 23-year-old Ryan Douglas Dodd, who lived at that address, was found in Maple Lake.

Dodd was recovered from the lake and personnel initiated resuscitation efforts. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Water Patrol, Douglas County Dive/Rescue Team, Forada First Responders and North Ambulance responded to the scene.

The case, and cause of death, remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
