Paul Schintz, 79
Paul A. Schintz, 79, of Alexandria and Weslaco, Texas, formerly of South St. Paul, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Knute Nelson after a courageous battle with mesothelioma.
Paul was born July 18, 1940 in St. Paul. He was united in marriage to Judith Harer in West St. Paul. He worked many years at Railway Express and ARA Vending Company. Paul was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy and he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and playing shuffle board in Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Verna (Morrison) Schintz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Vivian (Harer) Schintz; and sister-in-law, Carol (Harer) Williams.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy (Harer) Schintz; dog, Scooter; brother, Richard (Nancy) Schintz; brothers-in-law, Douglas (Judy) Harer; Michael (Karen) Harer; sister-in-law, Alice (Tim) Duncanson; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave. E., Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076 on Wednesday, July 9 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
