Owen Miller files for commissioner position

There will be a race for Douglas County Commissioner District 5.

Owen Miller, who is currently serving on the Alexandria City Council, filed for the county board position on Monday.

Incumbent commissioner Dan Olson withdrew from the race last week, leaving former Alexandria Police Chief Chuck Nettestad as the sole candidate. Under state law, the filing period for District 5 was extended five days, through this Tuesday.
