'Outstanding' community leaders receive awards for helping families
WINGS Family Supportive Services announced that Michael Klein was named Outstanding Parent Group Facilitator by Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota (PCAMN) for his efforts with the Alexandria Circle of Parents Chapter.
Additionally, the Alexandria Circle of Parents Chapter received Outstanding Chapter, and Nicole Hines was recognized as Outstanding Children's Program Supervisor.
Douglas County received the County Blue Ribbon Award for excellence in the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
These awards are given each year to communities and community leaders in an effort to encourage continued investment in awareness, maintain prevention and family strengthening efforts, and acknowledge innovative programs.
Klein is a West Central Regional Fathers' Program coordinator at WINGS Family Supportive Services. The West Central Regional Fathers' Program offers low income fathers, parents and families support and assistance with child support, custody, and parenting time issues.
