Love – and the aroma of good food – was in the air at the Alexandria Senior Center during its Valentine Gourmet Luncheon benefit last Friday.

The event was supposed to be limited to 150 but the center ended up serving 164 people, who paid $12 each.

“It was a noisy, happy affair,” said Kathryn LeBrasseur, senior center president.

Chef Tom Knutson of Silver Plate Catering cooked up the extra lunches. The Red Hat Ladies took care of serving the food.
