Dozens of boats were on display during the 27th annual Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum’s annual Classic Boat Show Saturday at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Alexandria. The Roddin’ Round the Lake’s “Show-n-Shine” in Osakis drew a big crowd Saturday. People of all ages strolled along Central and Main to get a look at vintage vehicles. The Central Lakes Cruzers Club organized the car show. The event also included a dinner, celebrity auction, kids’ games, drawings, awards, tours of Panther Distillery, music and a campfire gathering. The annual Tour of Gardens was held Sunday. Sponsored by the Douglas County Master Gardeners and University of Minnesota Extension, the tour featured five Douglas County gardens, including the Ronald and Daisy Stahlberg garden (pictured) on Sumac Drive in Alexandria. The garden features hosta, foxglove, weigela, begonia, lilies, wisteria, raised beds, a rose bed, shrubs, ferns, tiger eye, a straw bale garden, rain chain and pots and more.5 / 5
