Our Saviour's making improvements
Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Nelson has been undergoing some improvements recently.
The church has been led by Pastor Jeremy Pedersen since September 2012. Pederson also serves at Our Saviour's sister parish, Fahlun Lutheran Church.
Pedersen is from Elk Horn, Iowa. After obtaining a bachelor of arts from Wartburg College, he volunteered at a church camp in England through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Young Adults in Global Mission program.
He then attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul and served a congregation in Osceola, Nebraska. He was ordained in 2011. He served in Kuwait as a Minnesota National Guard Battalion Chaplain. He completed his full-time tour in May 2012 and continues to serve as a part-time National Guard chaplain.
Our Saviour's Lutheran Church has also undergone some physical improvements, including a new steel roof and air conditioning, with more planned.
The church is a member of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. Its mission is to serve others in the Lutheran tradition.
The church offers programs for all ages, including Wednesday church school for ages 4 through confirmation age, Wednesday Bible study, a women's group, soup and sandwich lunches and special services. Sunday worship services are at 9 a.m. with coffee and fellowship following. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call (320) 762-0140.
