The Osakis wrestling team had one of its best weeks of the season last week as the Silverstreaks went 5-0 after sweeping its home quadrangular on Friday night.

Osakis held off Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 42-29 in its final match. That came after the Silverstreaks dominated Browerville 66-0 and Benson 51-25.

Tyler Spanswick’s addition to the lineup at 195 pounds has paid dividends. He dominated last week, winning all five of his matches by fall. The fastest came in just 14 seconds against Browerville. Three of his other four pins also came in the first period, while his other one came in just 2:50 against New York Mills.

Pins were a big part of Osakis’ match against Benson. The Silverstreaks got seven of them. Darrin Stoetzel got them going at 113 pounds (1:15). Trenton Coyer followed at 120 pounds (1:52), Brendon Coyer at 126 (2:27), Ryan Engfer at 145 (1:19), Nils Hagen at 182 (4:27); before Spanswick (1:04) and Mitchell Sunder (220, 0:22) took care of business in quick fashion.

The Silverstreaks will try to carry over the momentum from a successful week with a couple of road duals this week. They were at Royalton last night, Tuesday, before going to Battle Lake to take on Ottertail Central on Friday.
