Osakis volleyball: Silverstreaks still perfect in Prairie

The Osakis volleyball team needed five sets to remain unbeaten in Prairie Conference play with a 3-2 win over Upsala on Tuesday night.

The Silverstreaks (16-5, 7-0 Prairie) went back and forth with the Cardinals (5-9, 4-3 Prairie) all night before Osakis won 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13. Brooke Sorenson had another big night with 16 kills and 11 digs. Annalise Savageau had nine kills, 19 assists, 20 digs and four blocks. Brittney Sadlemyer added eight kills and Mackenzie Staloch finished with 18 assists and 10 digs.

“We seemed a little sluggish on our start,” head coach Kirsten Wessel said. “Our passing was off quite a bit tonight. It was maybe a good thing for us to get a five-game match in at this point, so we are prepared in case it happens later down the road. It was nice to see us come out on top of this match. It will definitely mentally prepare us for the rest of the season.”
