The Osakis girls’ basketball team jumped ahead and never looked back for its second win this season 56-19 over Royalton on Tuesday.

The Silverstreaks were strong on defense, only allowing Royalton a total of seven points in the first half and 12 in the second.

“It was fun to see all the girls play and contribute,” said head coach Pat Kalpin. “I felt on the defensive we were exceptional, making it tough for Royalton to run the offense.”

Two Osakis players finished in the double digits in points, with Annalise Savageau scoring 16 and Madi Forsell finishing with 12. As a whole, the Silverstreaks shot 44 percent from the field, including 5-for-6 from three point range.

Osakis will continue its play Friday with a 7:30 p.m. away game at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.
