The Silverstreaks are clicking at the right time as they took care of St. John’s Prep 66-25 on Saturday after beating the second-place team in the Prairie Conference, Browerville, in a 69-56 game on Friday.

Osakis dominated the Johnnies from the get-go on Saturday, jumping out to a 47-12 lead by the break. Brittney Sadlemyer had 17 points and Annalise Savageau added 15 on a night when 10 different players scored for the Silverstreaks.

“This was our second game in less than 24 hours, so we were a little concerned about fatigue and overall focus after the big win Friday night versus Browerville,” head coach Pat Kalpin said. “As it turned out, that wasn’t the case at all. The girls played really well again.”

Osakis finished off the Prairie Conference title with a perfect 14-0 record. The Silverstreaks were 1-1 at one point this season before rattling off winning streaks of 13 and now eight games to finish 22-2.

“I’m really proud of our team and what they accomplished in the regular season,” Kalpin said. “Going 22-2 and 14-0 in the conference is outstanding.”

Osakis’ last big test of the conference season came against an 18-5 Browerville team on Friday. The Tigers were within six points, but Madi Forsell gave Osakis the momentum with a three at the buzzer. The Silverstreaks used that to build a lead as big as 21 points in the second half.

It was also senior night for Osakis as the team honored Savageau, Brooke Sorenson, Forsell, Diana Alverson and Emily Backes.

“It was a special night for these girls that have meant so much to our program,” Kalpin said.

Savageau had another big night with 21 points, four assists, two blocks and two rebounds. Mackenzie Staloch added 18 points and Forsell had 13 on a night when the Silverstreaks shot 46 percent from the field (25-of-54).

The Silverstreaks will now turn their attention to the playoffs as they try to make a run in a strong 6AA North field.
