Osakis firefighters assist at Long Prairie fire

Osakis firefighters assisted at the scene of a fire in Long Prairie Friday.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office was notified of the structure fire at Highway 27 Auto Salvage south of Long Prairie at about 10:50 a.m.

Employees had been working on a vehicle when fuel caught fire and the flames spread to the building, according to the sheriff's office.

One employee was transported to the Long Prairie Hospital for second-degree burns to his arm.

A total of five fire departments battled the blaze -- Long Prairie, Browerville, Clarissa, Osakis and Sauk Centre.

The sheriff's office was assisted with traffic control by the Long Prairie Police Department and the State Patrol.
