Osakis boys struggle against St. John’s

The Osakis boys’ basketball team was held to only 35 points in a 55-35 loss to St. John’s Prep at home on Thursday.

The Silverstreaks shot 41 percent from the field, but 17 turnovers proved costly.

“We got outworked by SJP and when that happens we won’t win many games,” head coach Matt Hoelscher said. “Their defensive pressure caused us to turn it over. Give them credit for coming into our place and wanting the win more than we did.”

Drew Fearing and Lane Berberich led the Silverstreaks’ offense with 10 points each. Grant Franke gave the Johnnies’ offense a big boost with 20 points.

The loss dropped Osakis to a 3-9 record this season. The Silverstreaks hit the road this week for away games against Browerville on Tuesday, Parkers Prairie on Thursday and Bertha-Hewitt on Friday.
