Operation Round Up awards 1,195 grants
Runestone Electric Association's Operation Round Up has distributed more than $624,000 in 1,195 grants to community-minded groups and organizations since its inception in 2003.
The following area organizations shared $15,400 in grants from Operation Round Up.
Fire departments/ first responders: Lakes Area First Responders, $500; Garfield First Responders, $500.
Youth: Alexandria Technical and Community College Foundation, $1,000; Morris Area High School Post Prom, $200; Glacial Hills Elementary, $500; Junior Achievement District 206, $250; Osakis After Prom Party, $200; Alexandria Youth Basketball Club, $200.
Community: West Central Community Action, $1,000; Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra, $200; West Central Community Action, $1,000; Friendship Ventures, $500; Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Douglas County, $300; Salvation Army Douglas County, $1,000; Brandon History and Information Center, Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., $750; Prevent Child Abuse MN, $1,000; Pioneer Public Television, $250; Runestone Museum Foundation, $200; Jingle Bells Foundation, $1,000; Alisha's Care Center, $250; The Salvation Army HeatShare, $1,000; Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 7826, $250; Honor Quilts, $250; Pope County Families in Need, $750.
Seniors: Galeon, $250; Elder Network, $1,000; Barrett Senior Citizens, $500; Alexandria Senior Center, $500.
Area organizations are encouraged to apply for Operation Round Up grants. The deadline for the next round of funding is February 15.
