North Iowa downs Blizzard 5-2

BLIZZARD HOCKEY

North Iowa 5, Alexandria 2

The Alexandria Blizzard got two wins over the weekend, but couldn't cap it off with a clean sweep after North Iowa won 5-2 in a West Division battle on Sunday afternoon.

The Blizzard won two games at Wisconsin before traveling to North Iowa. The Bulls trailed early after a Mick Dhein goal at 6:48 in the first period. They responded by scoring the next three goals to take a lead they never relinquished. Dhein scored his second of the night at 12:47 in the second period, but it wasn't enough as North Iowa scored three times in the second and once more in the third to put the game away.

Patrick Anderson took the loss in net for Alexandria. He gave up all five goals, stopping 23 of the 28 shots sent his way. The Blizzard fell to 16-8 with the loss and North Iowa moved to 21-1.
