The Noon Kiwanis Club is encouraging local youngsters to read.

During the week of Febru-ary 14, Kiwanis Club mem-bers read to all the 2nd grad-ers in School District 206. At the conclusion of the reading session, they gave a copy of the book they read to each student.

Kiwanis is a service orga-nization that works to im-prove the lives of children in the community. The group meets at noon on Mondays at Garden Center in Alexandria
