New innovative book club model reaches Alexandria

Children’s Literature Network (CLN) is partnering with the Douglas County Library in Alexandria to launch the latest chapter in its innovative Chapter and Verse Book Club.

The Chapter and Verse book clubs are a haven for adults who enjoy reading books written for children and teenagers. The Alexandria kick-off event will be Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Douglas County Library.

Gail Nordstrom of the Viking Library System will facilitate the first meeting. The participants will determine the future of the club in the Alexandria area.

In addition to adults who love children’s literature, the Chapter and Verse book clubs typically attract educators, literacy advocates, parents and grandparents who want to understand the reading material that appeals to young people.

The Children’s Literature Network is a networking and services organization for writers, illustrators, educators and readers of books for children and teens.

Those interested in joining a Chapter and Verse club or who want more information about it is encouraged to attend the informational meeting. Everyone is welcome.
