Nelson woman fined $300 for domestic assault

A Nelson woman was convicted of lesser charges after her involvement in a stabbing late last year.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, on December 13, 2013, Vanessa Rae Zephier, 33, stabbed Marshall Roy Jarvi, 34, multiple times at a home in rural Nelson.

Initially, Zephier was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, which are felonies.

Last month, a jury handed down a guilty verdict on two counts of domestic assault.

Zephier was fined $300 and credited for time already served in jail.
