Nelson, Weise to perform at EAC
The Evansville Art Center is proud to present Peggy Weise of Brandon and Josie Nelson of Alexandria in concert.
The concert is planned for Saturday, July 10 from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
It is a free-will offering event. Refreshments will be served during intermission.
Weise and Nelson will be playing their guitars and singing their favorite tunes.
Ten-year-old Nelson will be a 6th grader at Voyager Elementary School in Alexandria this fall.
She has been taking guitar lessons for two years and enjoys singing and writing her own songs. Her first public performance was last summer when she participated in the county fair talent contest.
Nelson advanced to Minnesota State Fair finals and placed second in the preteen division. Since then, she has had the opportunity to perform at Open Mic Night in Evansville and at various other places in the Alexandria lakes area.
She is the daughter of Brian and Linda Nelson and the granddaughter of Dean and Lois Nelson and Mike and JoAnn Perry, all of Alexandria.
Weise has been a regular contributor at Open Mic Night at the Evansville Art Center, which takes place the third Thursday of each month.
She has been singing and playing guitar for many years. She entertains with music ranging from folk to pop and even an occasional country song now and then.
Weise and her husband, Mark, live in Brandon and are the parents of three children.
