Muriel Johanson, 91
Muriel V. Johanson, 91, passed away on January 7, 2014, at Crestview Care Center in Columbia Heights.
Muriel was born on August 22, 1922 in Evansville, where she lived until moving to St. Paul in her late teens. For most of her working life, Muriel was the purchasing agent for the Nott Co. of Minneapolis. She is remembered for the professionalism she always demanded of herself, as a fan of the Gophers, the Twins and Bluegrass music, for her wry humor, and for her love of learning.
Muriel is survived by nieces and nephews, Don (Linda) Carlson, Diann (Al) Guenther, Marcia (Charlie) Bolin, Dana (Mary) Baker, Thomas Lindermyer, Mark (Jann) Johanson, Shelley Lindermyer, Ross Johanson and Shane Lindermyer; many greatnieces and greatnephews; and long-time close friends Phyllis Norberg, Tom McCarthy and John Dorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helmer and Olga Johanson; brother, Alvin (Donald) Johanson; sisters, Irene Larson and Alice Lindermyer; nephew, Alan Larson, nieces Alane Lindermyer and Jeanne Johanson Smith; and greatniece Kimberly Carlson.
A private family service is being planned.
