MnDOT issues warning of slippery spots in Alexandria
The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises motorists to drive with extreme caution in west central Minnesota. Freezing rain has created slippery conditions, particularly in the Fergus Falls, Alexandria and Morris areas.
MnDOT crews are out working to improve road conditions.
Officials do not anticipate any interstate or highway closures at this time; however, motorists may encounter brief lane and road closures where crashes occur.
Motorists should remember to:
· Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
· Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
· Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
· Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
