Minnewaska volleyball loses in five sets

The Minnewaska volleyball team came close but could not pick up their first conference victory in a five set match over Montevideo.

The Lakers lost the first two sets in the match, but they rebounded to win the next two sets 25-18, 25-12. But they could not pull out the deciding fifth set, losing 9-15.

Ariel Ostrander led the Lakers' offense with nine kills and three blocks. Alison Hoeper and Emma Middendorf also had seven kills each in the match.

Taylor Amundson had 29 set assists in the match, and Ashlyn Guggisberg led the Lakers' defense with 24 digs.
