Minnewaska golf wins two WCC meets

The Minnewaska girls’ golf team is off to another strong start this season after taking first place in two West Central Conference meets on Thursday.

The Lakers started the day by taking first place out of 10 teams at the Granite Run Golf Course in Granite Falls with a team score of 181. Later on they traveled to the Olivia Golf Course where they again took first out of 10 teams with a score of 168.

Jenna Janu led the Lakers in both meets, tying for first place overall in Granite Falls with a nine-hole score of 43 and taking first overall in Olivia by shooting a 37.

Ashlyn Guggisberg and Ellen Stensrud tied for second on the team in both meets as each scored a 44 in Granite Falls and a 42 in Olivia.

Annika Pederson and Ariel Ostrander tied for fourth on the team in Granite Falls after both carded a 50. Ostrander took fourth on the team in Olivia with a score of 47.
