Minnesota authors to sign books at Grape Stomp
A group of Minnesota authors will be signing their books at the Carlos Creek Winery Grape Stomp, September 12-13 near Alexandria.
Novels and memoirs by Peter Bundy, Brian Landon, Jimmy Olsen, Forrest Peterson and Paul Zerby have been published by North Star Press of St. Cloud
The public is invited to meet them at their booth at the Carlos Creek event, and browse through their books along with other titles from North Star Press.
Bundy, a forestry consultant living in Crosby, has just published his second book, The Wild Garden. A sequel to Finding the Forest, it's filled with insight into environmentalism and nature.
Landon of Blaine is described as "a hilarious new voice in crime fiction" by Ellen Hart, author of The Mortal Groove. Landon's first mystery novel, A Grand Ol' Murder, has just been published. A sequel, The Case of the Unnecessary Sequel, is scheduled for release in March 2010.
Olsen of St. Cloud led an adventurous life and stayed with it while writing novels and short stories. His novel, Things in Ditches, is "a crackerjack thriller," according to the New York Post.
Peterson's first novel, Good Ice, portrays a group of young kids in a small Midwest town in the late 1950s confronted with injustice and discrimination, a story that reminded one young reviewer of To Kill a Mockingbird. His second novel is on track for publication in spring 2010. A former journalist and newspaper editor, he lives near Willmar.
Zerby is a retired attorney and former Minneapolis city council member. His novel, The Grass, offers a vivid, engaging story based on his experience serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, "the forgotten war," in 1953-55.
Look for the authors at their booth among more than 150 art, craft, and food vendors at the Carlos Creek Winery event, located at 6693 County Road 34 NW, about six miles north of Alexandria.
