In Minnesota, 3,900 children are homeless each night

From the year 2000 to 2010, the rate of children in poverty in Minnesota rose from 114,000 (9 percent) to 192,000 (15.2 percent). According to the Children’s Defense Fund of Minnesota (CDF-MN), the metro counties of Hennepin and Ramsey have the highest rate of children living in poverty. There is a rise in suburban counties of children living in poverty.
