Mindfulness through yoga event offered at First Congregational Church
First Congregational Church, 221 7th Avenue West in Alexandria, will offer a beginning yoga class stressing mindfulness as a way to pause and reset.
Three days of free introductory classes will be held Tuesday through Thursday, February 11-13 at 9:30 a.m. at the church. They will introduce the upcoming 10 weeks of classes.
Members of the community are encouraged to participate. Free child care will be provided.
Wanda Hohler, a licensed yoga/wellness specialist, will explain the many benefits of yoga, including balance, toning, spirituality, memory, flexibility and mindfulness.
The three introductory days will be for participants interested in learning what yoga is all about and are interested in enrolling in beginning yoga weekly classes.
A day and time for the weekly classes held at the church fellowship hall will be determined after the three-day introductory opportunities.
The fee for the 10-week class is $37.50 for seniors and $48.50 for other ages. A sliding scale for these fees is available upon request. No registration is necessary for the introductory classes.
Parking is available on the north side of the church. Entrance to the church’s fellowship hall is on Elm Street.
