Millerville downs Carlos Cougars 1-0

The Millerville Millers got an impressive win against perennial Resorters East Division power Carlos this past Sunday in a pitchers’ duel that ended 1-0 in favor of the Millers.

Aaron Lund tossed a gem for Millerville in a complete-game shutout. He scattered seven hits and four walks but worked his way out of trouble with the help of six strikeouts. Mark Hillesheim countered him for Carlos and was almost equally as impressive.

The Millers got to the Cougars for one run in the seventh inning, and it was Lund that scored the winning run. Craig Campbell provided the hit in that inning as he doubled in Lund to score what turned out to be the game’s only run.

The Cougars threatened with a couple walks in the ninth inning, but Lund induced a fly out to center field to secure the win. The Millers moved to 2-0 on the young season, while Carlos fell to 0-1 on its season opener.
