Mexican brass quintet to perform
The Central Lakes Concert Association (CLCA) will present its last concert of the season, METALES M5, on Friday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson High School gymnasium.
METALES M5 is Mexico's finest brass quintet, consisting of two trumpets, one French horn, trombone and a tuba. The group plays a balance of classical pieces, which they play in costume, and lighter pop tunes, including a 007 segment, also in costume. The group finishes off with Mexican folk tunes, including a bullfight scene with the 4'11" trombonist playing the part of the bull.
Those who have purchased new memberships for the 2012-13 season may attend this concert as a bonus, free of charge. To join the CLCA, call Jan Johnson at (320) 762-1350. If you have purchased your membership already, be prepared to show your receipt at the door.
