Meth bust leads to six arrests
On June 5, a nine-month investigation culminated with the arrest of six people on drug-related charges.
According to a news release from the Todd County Sheriff's Office, several search and arrest warrants were issued for methamphetamine sales in the Staples area.
Five law enforcement agencies took part in executing the search warrants at the following locations on June 5:
200 block of Dakota Avenue SE, Staples;
Wisconsin Avenue SE, Staples; and
Section 9 of Villard Township in Todd County.
The six people arrested range in age from 22 to 48 years old. Charges are pending and additional arrests are possible, according to law enforcement.
The investigation was conducted by the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force, Staples Police Department and Todd County Sheriff's Office, and those agencies were assisted by Brainerd Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division, Wadena County Sheriff's Office, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, Morrison County Sheriff's Office, Cass County Sheriff's Office and Wadena Police Department.
