McNamar to escort Dayton into House for State of the State address tonight

State Representative Jay McNamar, DFL-Elbow Lake, will escort Governor Mark Dayton onto the floor of the House of Representatives for his State of the State address tonight.

Governor Dayton will give his annual State of the State address to a joint meeting of the Legislature. The address will begin at 7 p.m.

“I’m certainly honored,” said McNamar, who represents District 12A, which includes part of Douglas County. “There has been substantial progress made in my two years here to get us back to a place where we have balanced Minnesota’s budget, provided tax relief for working people, and fully paid back the billions that had been borrowed from our schools. That all happened largely because of Governor Dayton’s strong leadership, and his commitment to the shared success of everyone in our state. I will be listening closely on Wednesday to hear his ideas about how we can continue to improve quality of life in Greater Minnesota.”

McNamar will share the responsibility with a bipartisan handful of colleagues in the state Senate and House.
