Marilyn Freiborg Sullivan passed away surrounded by her family in Naples, Florida on March 4, 2014.

Marilyn was loved by many and her memory will live on in each one of the lives she touched. She was the loving wife of Tim Sullivan of Alexandria, MN. She and Tim had retired to the beautiful North Georgia mountains, where she enjoyed the majestic views and tended to her bountiful garden and lush roses. In winter months she and Tim packed up Ruthie, their RV, and would head to some of their favorite destinations, always taking time to visit family in Minnesota where their children lived. Most recent were celebrations of new family members with weddings, births of grandchildren, and celebrating those who have gone before her.

Marilyn took pride in her family and friends and was never caught without a camera in her hand. She had the ability to capture moments in time, which is one of the gifts she leaves with us as we go forward.

There is not enough space to share with you all the things Marilyn loved. She loved traveling, suntans, beaches, fishing, Mickey Mouse, T-Shirts, and walks with her dog Kobi. She had a multitude of friends and took great care in nurturing her friendships. In the last two years, Marilyn had been battling diabetes and liver disease. She was strong and fought hard. Unfortunately, complications ensued and she was hospitalized while wintering in Naples, FL and passed away with her family at her bedside.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry (Ruth) Araujo of Hilo, HI, Grandma and Grandpa Ruck of Farmington, MI; her father, Richard Schlemmer of Alexandria, MN; and her niece, Keaton Nicole Vickers of Montevideo, MN.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Schlemmer, of Alexandria, MN; her daughter Brittany Freiborg of Alexandria, MN; her son, Zachary (Amanda) Freiborg of Renville, MN; stepchildren, Elizabeth (Jerry) Johnson of Balaton, MN, Kevin (Jess) Sullivan of Brandon, MN, Kathleen (Jim) Hubbling of Miltona, MN, John (Krista) Sullivan of Evansville, MN, Bryant (Kacie), Sullivan of Parkers Prairie, MN, and Thomas (Alyssa) Sullivan of Alexandria, MN., twin sister, Mary (Bill) Franzen of Alexandria, MN, sister, Michele (Norman) Roeloffs, of Jupiter, FL, and brother, Scott (Heidi) Schlemmer of Sweetwater, TX; along with seven grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn's last wishes were to be cremated and to have a simple memorial, which will be held this spring in Alexandria, MN. More details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you love your family and cherish every moment.
