Snake charmers, jugglers, magicians and more! Don't miss the Alexandria Area Arts Association's fall musical, Carnival!

Performances are Friday, September 30; Saturday, October 1 and Thursday through Saturday, October 6-8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays, October 2 and 9 at 2 p.m.

Directed by Paul Schoenack, this show is appropriate for audiences of all ages.

The show begins with an empty stage. In the first musical number, the actors "build" the set right in front of the audience, filling the stage with bright lights and colors.

The characters have a Cirque de Soleil feel with their extravagant costumes and makeup. Music from the show includes the classic song Love Makes the World Go 'Round. The unique costumes and exotic carnival performers will steal the show.

Carnival! is a 1961 musical from the book by Michael Stewart, with music and lyrics by Bob Merrill.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for ages 10 and younger and can be purchased at the AAAA Box Office at 618 Broadway from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call (320) 762-8300.
