Lorraine Bassamore, 92
Lorraine Eva (McVeigh) Bassamore, 92, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Diamond Willow in Alexandria.
Lorraine was born July 22, 1921 in Minneapolis to William and Eva (Leopard) McVeigh.
Lorraine was united in marriage to her junior high school sweetheart, Nicholas Bassamore on July 3, 1941 in Minneapolis. To this union the couple was blessed with two children, Jayne and Steve.
Lorraine was a great wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and being a homemaker. Lorraine and Nicholas enjoyed traveling the U.S. and going to national parks.
She is survived by her son, Steven (fianc, Yvonne Culligan) Bassamore of Princeton; daughter, Jayne (Jeff) Schmidt of Alexandria; five grandsons and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Anderson of Chanhassen; and brother, James (Bonnie) McVeigh of New Hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva; husband, Nicholas McVeigh; daughter-in-law, Pennie Bassamore; and many more friends and relatives.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, December 18 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary in Minneapolis. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
