Long-time city attorney to retire this summer after many years of service

The Alexandria City Council offered its thanks to an attorney who has served the city for nearly 40 years – John Lervick.

At its May 27 meeting, it approved Lervick’s request for the council to rescind his appointment as assistant city attorney.

Lervick, who served as the city’s lead attorney for most of his career, is retiring from practicing law on June 30, 2014.

He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism.
